The bungalow is situated by the sea, about 25 m from shore.
The bungalow is like a large studio with a large bed for 2 people, a kitchen-dining area and a TV corner with two armchairs. A small room receives a shower, toilet and a small sink. The kitchen (sink, cooker with oven, fridge with freezer, microwave oven, dishes and utensils).
The bungalow has a small terrace at the front (seaside).
You can enjoy your meals just a few feet away from the sea, sitting at the « fare potee » (outdoor table with a roof).
The area is very quiet, with very little traffic. The beach is semi-private and offers astonishing sunrises. Moonrises over the ocean are also beautiful, especially during the full moon. From August to October, it is common to see migrating whales passing by in the lagoon or the open sea.
The beach is rather small, but usually sandy (the amount of sand depends on the seasons of the year). A couple of big tamanu trees cast a pleasant shade on the beach and protect the beachgoers from getting sunburn.
The beach is surrounded by coral reefs, and shelters a great variety of fish and corals. It is a great fishing spot as well. We do not recommended letting young children swim there because the corals might scratch them.
You can more easily access the lagoon through the mouth of a little stream coming from the mountain, about 50m (160ft) away from the bungalow, where no coral will bother you while you swim. There is also a little slipway on that spot to launch little boats and canoes.
Two canoes are at your disposal if you wish to take a trip on the lagoon.
The bungalow is located on a beautiful garden, full of flowers and trees, completely available for you to visit or for your children to play.
There are very few houses in the neighborhood, and the closest shops are about 2km (1.2mi.) away. There is a well-stocked « PROXI » shop in the town of Hitiaa, about 5km (3mi.) away from the bungalow.
We could arrange for you to go hiking in the mountains or the valley with the owners, depending on their availability.
We could lend you bikes, fishing rod, flippers, masks and snorkels for a little fee.
In summary, the big interest of the spot is the calm of the site (including and especially the lagoon) or its isolation, the immediate proximity of the sea, the shadow brought to shore by tamanus and available surrounding space.
