Summary: So, the place was clean had a bed and small kitchen and all that. However, the listing did not mention that to get to the suite you had to go through the general entrance of the house and walk a bit down a hallway to their kitchen/living room to get to the basment apartment unit. The family seems like lovely people but we felt uncomfortable with how to get to the place, especially with them having two young children, which also seemed lovely. We were in Guelph for the Pirate Festival. And while being quite is perfectly fine, I worry about waking up the kids, even if you do your best to be quite at midnight or even a bit earlier or later, as you have to walk through the house to get to the basment. I booked it because it was very affordable. But I would not have booked it if I had known about the entry situation. I'm not sure if there is a feasible way for them to change that but at least add it in the listing. It felt like being a teenager living in the basement and trying to sneak down to my room without talking to my parents about where I've been. But it was clean and nice. I didn't even sit on the bed as we left and didn't stay the night. I wish the family all the best.
