Both spacious upstairs bedroom Primary suites share a huge veranda with expansive views of the lush rice fields and come with new King size pillowtop mattresses, soft pillows, and luxurious linens. Mosquito netting, safety box and air conditioning are also there for your comfort. Each bathroom has cream terrazzo, granite counters and Rainshower shower heads. The South/Master bedroom suite boasts a separate bougainvilla terrace outside the window. The semi outdoor bathroom, full of plants, has a brand new bathtub for a good soak after your rice field walk and a massage. The North bathroom suite also has Rainshower fixtures, terrazzo and granite with lots of hot water.
Downstairs, you are surrounded by a fantastic collection of Balinese art and one-of-a-kind antiques. Two soft comfortable sofas and a reading chair with ottoman are perfect for a book or watching the 42" flat Plasma screen TV with satellite channels galore. There is also a half bath off the lounge. There are many books to read, videos to choose from, and a DVD/CD player with good volume speakers. Wifi is currently available throughout the villa, and we have fast 50 mbps fibre optic cable by Speedy. You will also find brochures on places to go, lots of menus including extensive food delivery options, and a binder with many insider suggestions for your trip. All of the villa's furniture is custom designed and handmade in Bali, and the lighting is good for reading in your two big chairs with ottomans. Perfect for dining al fresco is the indoor/outdoor table with seating for 6. Flowering orchids can be seen throughout the villa.
We designed Villa Serena to take advantage of the beautiful views and traditional outdoor living, but also for the ability to close doors, cool with air conditioning if necessary, and lock up everything. By the sparkling pool are several sunbeds and a large umbrella, as well as a beautiful wooden bale' pavilion with traditional ylang ylang roof for yoga, reading, breakfast, a massage, or contemplating nature. This will be your favorite place to eat! Mature landscaping and flowering plants are everywhere, blending perfectly with the lush green of the rice fields. The pool's Quan Yin water feature adds the bubbling sounds of running water to the already serene atmosphere.
Serena's kitchen has custom cabinets from Javanese teak, slab granite counters, stainless appliances and is fully equipped with everything you need (and a lot you don't). On hand to cook for you is our lovely staff (there will be several), who will pamper you and tempt your palate with delicious Western breakfast or Balinese nasi goreng (upon request). You may have your choice of eggs any style, fruit, pancakes, fruit smoothie, juice, and coffee or tea. Our staff will also be happy to make lunch or dinner, menu agreed to beforehand--you pay in advance for groceries, they will go to the market or store, and give you the change and your receipt. Staff arrives at 6:30-7:00 and leaves around 3, so she/they will leave the cooked food in the fridge and you can serve at your leisure. Our staff will open the villa in the morning as well as close the doors and curtains in the evening if you like.
The villa also comes equipped with many thoughtful touches like shampoo, insect repellant, pool floaties, umbrellas, ponchos, and flashlights. You may also use our Bali cell phone for local calls for reservations or food delivery during your stay, and it is pre-programmed with essential staff numbers in case you would like to be picked up at the drop off point on our motorbikes.
There is a 3 minute walk up a sloping hill, then another 5 minute walk to the villa, so not recommended for wheelchairs or people with mobility issues. Villa Solera has the perfect location, staff, and amenities to make your stay in Ubud unforgettable!
