Summary: We needed a gateway and chose Holbox that was highly recommended by Mexican friends, The property was nice overall but here are the reasons why they did not get a 5*: - The flow from the shower head was irregular and scarce. - The smell from the decomposed seaweed on the shore reached our room and was very unpleasant. - Because of that decomposed seaweed, we could not enjoy the sea. - The amount of mosquitoes prevented us from enjoying walks in the morning and after sunset. - We had lunch at the pool and were immediately surrounded by iguanas getting dangerously close to us. The staff knew but did little to scare them away.
