Our beloved cabin sleeps up to 12 (2 king beds and 1 queen bed in their own rooms, 2 queen beds and 2 doubles in the spacious loft). Spend summer days swimming, kayaking and canoeing right off the private beach, and summer nights on the lakefront deck, eating dinner on the large teak table, watching the sun go down. After dinner, sit around the fire pit (fire bans allowing) or play one of the outdoor games. In winter, cozy up to the wood stove, choose a book from the library, play a game of pool or darts, puzzle or play cards.
The cabin is set up to provide everything for your comfort, with new mattresses on the beds, all linens and towels (including beach towels), a kitchen that is fully equipped so you can plan delicious meals without wondering if there will be a lemon squeezer or cheese grater! For the barbecue enthusiasts there is a propane barbecue on the deck.
The area teems with things to do, summer and winter. If you can drag yourselves away from the beach the hiking and biking is world class, and for golfers the championship course Kokanee Springs Resort is 15 minutes away, as well as two other 18 hole courses in Balfour and Creston and a gem of a 9 hole course in Riondel.
Winter offers skiing at the famous Whitewater (along with their excellent Whitewater restaurant), cross country skiing, snowshoeing and winter hiking. Ainsworth Hot Springs is a ferry ride away across the lake.
This is a quiet lakeside home with wonderful neighbours so we emphasize that this is NOT a party house, and we ask that there is no loud noise or music outside.
Dunrobin Cabin on Kootenay Lake is “rustic luxury”, with thick mattresses and crisp bed linen that you sink into, a fully equipped chef’s kitchen (please use what’s there and either replace it or let us know what’s missing), and comfortable couches and chairs to curl up on, this is a place to relax and unwind in, whatever you love to do. Head down to the games room for pool on the 8’ table, play darts or pull out one of the many board games.
In the garage you will find washer toss, croquet, badminton for fun in the front yard.
