Retreat by the fireplace, snowshoe, swim or hike 2km around the lake or kick up your feet and take in the tranquil scenery. This lakeside cottage is both cozy and charming. Situated directly on Lac Bois Franc you will have access to our kayak and paddle boat, and will be close to other activities like the ski slopes, golf course, spas, aerial park, tourist caves, horseback riding and 25km to the town of Wakefield.
The space
This cottage has a large number of windows with patio doors onto a large deck overlooking the water. It provides over 1000 square feet of interior living space offering a very open bright atmosphere and can welcome up to 6 persons.
All on one level, bring some logs and relax by the fireplace, or watch your favourite shows on the smart tv or by connecting your laptop to the TV with the HDMI cable we provide (note there is no cable television programming). We also have a Bose speaker we welcome you to use.
The kitchen comes fully equipped including a generic filter coffee machine that accepts ground coffee beans. You can drink the tap (filtered lake water) or if you prefer bring a jug of water and connect to the dispenser. The kitchen opens to a tasteful dining area. One bedroom features a queen bed and the two other bedrooms feature a double bed. There is also a 4 pc bathroom. Please note there is currently no laundry onsite.
In summer months we provide access to non-motorized water toys that are permitted on the lake including a paddle boat and kayak. While we provide one bath towel per person we ask that you please bring your own lake towels. Outdoors there is also a BBQ and fire pit for use in the summer. We ask you to please consult the Sopfeu map to ensure there is no fire ban in the area before starting a fire.
In front of the house you will find parking for a maximum of 4 vehicles in the summer (2 in driveway and 2 across the street). In the winter, due to the snow, parking is limited to 2 vehicles (1 in driveway and 1 across the street). The house is equipped with wifi. While you can take calls, the cell service in the area is not great. Please make sure to bring your own firewood for indoor fireplace and outdoor fire pit (for use in winter) and in the winter months please come with your SUV as the roads are windy and narrow and have some hills.
