Positive: I’ve been traveling to Bali for leisure and business for nearly 40 years, and Mandara Villas is hands down the best place I’ve found to stay in the Ubud area. It's an excellent accommodation in all respects, beautiful and comfortable. Close to Ubud itself, but not too close. Owner is a high priest carrying on the work of his fathers and grandfathers. Interesting man. Wonderful stories. A helpful manager speaks good English. Mandara reminds me of old Bali. Like Ubud in the 1980s (but with strong reliable internet, which is important since I work online). Utterly quiet and peaceful. No car noise at all. At night, all you hear are chickens and cicadas. I loved staying here. Very highly recommend.

Summary: I'll stay here again and again, for the exceptional beauty, quiet, comfort, and service.
