Kids are free, so when asking for a written estimate, do not enter the number of kids, or the web site will happily interpret them as extra adults at $50/night. Please note that short-term rentals in San Antonio are obliged to charge you a 16.75% tax as of January, 2019. This applies if you are renting for less than 30 days and if you are NOT on government travel. The estimate you will get when you plug in your travel dates will include this tax, but I can remove it manually if you qualify. Although specifically designed for short-term rental to travelers with pets, I am accepting longer-term (30 days plus) rentals, and giving a good discount to encourage them. If you are looking for long-term, please inquire and tell me how long you are interested in staying and I will give you a quote. This is one of five places I have for rent that were all built between 1909 and 1930. They're all pet friendly homes, and all four are in the same area, and are very close to downtown. They're priced exactly the same, with the exception of the smallest one. I lived in this house and rebuilt to specification, including super good insulation and solar panels to make this home an energy showcase. My electric bill is $6, which means the panels will be paid off in about 5 years. The home sleeps 4, and my other houses sleep 6 (https://www.vrbo.com/858300), 4 (https://www.vrbo.com/919969) and two (https://www.vrbo.com/1290930 and https://www.vrbo.com/1482728). If one is booked you may find an opening at the others. Each house has every amenity - I have been quizzing guests over the years about how to outfit the kitchen and bath so that you will have everything you need (washer/dryer, new A/C, bed-bug proof mattress covers, comfortable mattresses, dog doors, fenced yard, proximity to nice walks, restaurants and shopping) plus more: a bottle of wine, a few beers, bottled water, emergency pizzas, dog biscuits, a growing dog library. For your protection, all the mattresses are fitted with anti-bedbug, anti-allergin mattress covers. This 2 bedroom house was built in 1909 and fully restored in 2015. It has a nice mix of antiques and high-tech amenities (solar power, WiFi, smart TVs with internet, Pandora, Amazon Prime, and Netflix). One bedroom has a king size bed and the other has a queen size bed. It is about 10 minutes from downtown, and is on a bus route that takes you right into the city. Interstate 10, the major San Antonio artery, is 2 miles away, The airport is 4 miles away. The house is solar powered, and fully insulated with new A/C and heat. Our place is pet-friendly (no fees), and has a fully fenced and gated back yard (the fence is a 6 foot high wood fence). There is a doggie door in the kitchen, allowing dogs to come in and out of the fenced part of the yard. We are one block from five well-known restaurants, including two that specialize in ribs, one that serves the best hamburgers in San Antonio, and a popular Mexican breakfast, lunch, and dinner cafe.. A food truck parks most nights in the summer down the block and serves up excellent Mexican dishes. Our neighborhood is known for the dozen or so antique shops within walking distance. I live close by, and can be at your door to help with any issues within minutes. Rates don't change on holidays. I know some of your schedules are nailed down, and some are more fluid. I've learned how to work with that. As with the short-term rentals, I will still do your maintenance, pay your utilities, and do the yard work. All furnishings, linen, kitchen gear, towels, cleaning supplies, vacuum, ironing board, washer/dryer, etc. are provided.
