We think you will fall in love with this perfect house (SCC Permit #221225, TOT Certificate VRAB00030) just steps from the beach. It is a 5-minute shortcut through the estuary to the Moran State beach. (Don't let VRBO confuse you... they calculate 12 minutes to the beach based on the streets, not the locals' shortcut.). This family-friendly 3br/2.5ba getaway has also been equipped for remote work (see below).
Our secluded, quiet street nestled up against the peaceful Moran County Park estuary is perfectly appointed for your comfort and enjoyment--a perfect change of scenery for families looking for a great getaway.
There are 3 bedrooms upstairs that sleep 8 (1 king in master, 1 queen in the guest room, and 2 sets of bunk beds in the 3rd room). There are 2.5 baths--two full upstairs and a half downstairs--plus an outdoor shower. The private master bath has two sinks, enclosed toilet and a rain shower. We provide all the linens--bed, bath and beach--and soap, shampoo and conditioner.
Hear the waves crash and enjoy the 360-degree views from the amazing rooftop deck that has 2 chaise lounges and relaxing seating for 8—a delight for sunrise coffee or wine and cheese at sunset.
The house is freshly updated with a beautiful remodeled open and well-equipped kitchen, a spacious family room with plenty of comfy seating, gas fireplace, large modern dining table, garage rec room, outdoor shower with hot water, a back patio with dining and lounge seating and BBQ, and two smart TVs with cable to make your vacation a dream. If you need to work while you are there, we have HDMI monitors on desks in the master and guest bedrooms. There is also a desk in the bunk room.
The house is well-located. It’s only a short stroll from the famed Pleasure Point surfing area. You can meander in the estuary, walk to shops and restaurants on 41st Ave or the quaint Capitola Village, or pop onto 26th Ave beach for surfing and long beach walks through Twin Lakes beach.
Perfect for families and adults, the house is stocked with plenty of games and puzzles and there is a supply of boogie boards, beach chairs, beach toys and a beach cart to get all the fun down to the beach! We have a porta crib, sheets for a babies and a portable stair gate for toddlers.

QUIET HOURS/PARTIES: As indicated above, this house is in a serene enclave which is part of the house’s wonderful charm. Per county code, QUIET HOURS for all Santa Cruz rentals in the Live Oak area are 10pm to 8am. We like to be considerate to our neighbors and we don’t like to turn folks away—we love all our guests. But if you are looking to have a boisterous party long into the night, please look for another property. Thank you for your understanding.
PARKING: Parking is limited. Only three cars may be associated with the rental of the house and only three cars can fit in the driveway. There is no available parking on our street.
